Four people, including a police officer, have been injured in a car crash and suspected stabbing in Engadine in Sydney’s south.

Police said they received multiple calls following a two-car crash at the intersection of Princes Highway and Old Bush Road around 9am.

Officers arrived on scene and found a man who had probably been stabbed and who was running away.

Police used a taser to arrest the man.

According to police, a male police officer suffered a wound to his left wrist during the arrest.

A woman, who police say was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the crash, was found with multiple injuries.

A fourth person was also injured.

There are also ambulances on site.
