Colorado star Travis Hunter is paying extra attention to his body in order to continue fulfilling his two-way role for the Buffaloes.

Hunter said in an interview with ESPN’s Ryan McGee on Sunday that College GameDay that “I’m going to treatment non-stop every day” to help deal with his current workload. He also expressed confidence in his ability to continue playing both offense and defense.

The junior athlete caught 57 passes for 121 yards and five touchdowns, while recording 30 tackles and three interceptions in 2023. He more than lived up to expectations as a wide receiver and defensive back.

Hunter’s unique skills were on display again in Colorado’s 31-26 win over North Dakota State to open the season. He had three tackles and made his biggest impact as a wideout, catching seven passes for 132 yards and three scores.

Especially if Hunter ends up where many projected him in the 2025 draft, an NFL team will likely feel the risk is too high to let him play cornerback and receiver regularly. Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department projected him to go first overall to the Denver Broncos in their pre-season mock for the 2024 season.

The 21-year-old certainly seems to understand that breaking new ground as a two-way player in the NFL requires a lot more attention to detail than normal, particularly when it comes to his training and off-field recovery.
