Colorado safety breaks forearm against Nebraska

play

LINCOLN, Neb. — Colorado starting safety Shilo Sanders likely broke his forearm and will be out for the rest of the game against Nebraska, his father and coach Deion Sanders told NBC during halftime.

Shilo Sanders left the game in the first quarter and did not return. He was Colorado’s leading tackler last year and is in his final season of college football after graduating from Jackson State last year and then moving to Colorado to play for his father.

He is one of Colorado’s two starters for the game against the Cornhuskers, who led 28-0 at halftime.

The other is linebacker Trevor Woods, who was disqualified late in the second quarter after receiving a penalty for targeting the ball.

It was a tough night for the Sanders family. Deion Sanders’ other player, son Shedeur, a quarterback, was sacked four times in the first half and intercepted once for a seven-yard touchdown return by Nebraska.

“I’m thinking a broken forearm or something, so he’s not coming back at all,” Deion Sanders told NBC during halftime. “But we’ve got to figure something out. We’ve got to go out there and get these guys pumped up a little bit.”
