Caitlin Clark Shows Off Unexpected New Skill — Baseball Announcement

Caitlin Clark may already be auditioning for her second career.

As the Indiana Fever prepare for their first playoff series since 2016, taking on the favored Connecticut Sun in a highly anticipated first-round matchup of the WNBA postseason, Clark tried something new: baseball announcing.

On Wednesday, it appeared the Fever star and Rookie of the Year favorite was called up from a bedroom for a Brewers home game against the Phillies.

Teammate Lexie Hull grabbed her phone and filmed Clark “announce[ing]the game” from the room.

She even tried using the ‘announcer’s voice’.

“Runner on first, no outs… this puts… somebody at bat,” Clark said at one point.

That someone turned out to be Garrett Mitchell, an outfielder for the Brewers.

She scored a few more runs in the inning and even named Phillies starter Aaron Nola’s soccer cleats, drawing much laughter from Hull.

Clark, too, couldn’t keep a straight face as she painted the match with a smile.

In the comments on Hull’s video after it was posted, Clark apparently tagged the Phillies and asked if they would hire her.

Clark, who is making her first playoff run as a pro, and the Fever face a big test against the Sun, who have the league’s best defense.

The three-episode series begins airing this Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC.
