Before them Thursday night football matchup, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins ​​and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield announced they are donating $50,000 to help those affected by Hurricane Helene.

The two announced they are partnering with Team Rubicon, a disaster relief organization, to help first responders, volunteers and communities damaged by the storm.

“There are volunteers on the front lines getting their hands dirty and committed to doing whatever work it takes to clean up,” Cousins ​​said in a video on his X account.

Mayfield added: “Their dedicated volunteers are working tirelessly to help those in need, ensuring aid can reach every corner of the affected areas.”

Last week, Hurricane Helene struck Mayfield’s Florida and Cousins’ Georgia, along with the state of South Carolina, western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee.

In addition to their donations, Mayfield and Cousins ​​have issued a call to action for fans to donate what they can, directing them to Team Rubicon’s website to do so.

As Mayfield and Cousins ​​come together to rally their fans to help with hurricane relief, they will compete against each other on Thursday. Atlanta comes into the game 2-2, while the Bucs are 3-1 this year, and both teams are looking for a big win in the NFC South.
