Bank of America account access issue ‘largely’ resolved – NBC Los Angeles

“Yes, I logged in and said the balance is not available and approximately where it should be,” said an NBCLA Facebook user. ‘I hope they solve it. People who need money, I feel sorry for them.’

“My credit card balance is there, but my checking and savings balances are zero,” said another.

The website DownDetector reported a dramatic spike in the number of outages on Wednesday morning. The outage registration site received tens of thousands of outage reports from users by mid-morning.

Problems were also reported by users in New York, Chicago, Seattle and cities.

Bank of America released the following statement Wednesday afternoon.

“Some customers are experiencing difficulty accessing their accounts and balance information today,” the company said. “These issues are being addressed and have been largely resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

According to DownDetector, the number of outages had dropped to about 3,300 by 1 p.m.

Details about the cause of the outage were not available Wednesday afternoon.
