Arizona man wanted for threatening Trump on social media

An Arizona man is wanted after he threatened to kill former President Donald Trump on social media, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is in Cochise County as he visits the U.S. border with Mexico as part of his campaign.

The man, Ronald Lee Syvrud, 66, has multiple outstanding arrest warrants out of Wisconsin, the sheriff’s office said.

This is the latest in a series of threats against candidates in the run-up to the November 5 general election.

In early August, a Virginia man was charged with threatening Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump’s Democratic rival. In December, a New Hampshire man was arrested for threatening to kill Republican presidential candidates.

In July, Trump was wounded in the ear during an attempted assassination, two others were injured and one man was killed.

The U.S. Secret Service came under massive surveillance after the shooting, resulting in the resignation of the agency’s director.
