Anna Sorokin, Dwight Howard and Jenn Tran headline ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Before Anna Sorokin puts on her dancing shoes, she first has to put on her ankle bracelet.

The notorious con man will headline a motley crew of pop culture figures including former NBA drama king Dwight Howard, actress Tori Spelling and “The Bachelorette” lead Jenn Tran on the next edition of “Dancing with the Stars,” the ABC competition show announced Wednesday.

Sorokin, best known as a fake German heiress who called herself “Anna Delvey,” is apparently allowed to dance while under house arrest as she fights deportation.

Stories of Sorokin’s scams as a fake socialite who charmed her way into New York City’s elite circles were dramatized in the hit 2022 Netflix miniseries “Inventing Anna.”

She spent more than three years in prison for fraud before being released in October 2022. She is currently under house arrest and awaiting deportation proceedings.

It was not immediately clear which government agency had to give permission for Sorokin’s participation in “DWTS.”

Representatives for the con artist turned dancer and “DWTS” were not immediately available for comment Wednesday.

It’s no surprise that athletes always do well in dance competitions.

Previous winners include basketball player Iman Shumpert, figure skaters Adam Rippon, Kristi Yamaguchi and Meryl Davis, football players Donald Driver, Rashad Jennings, Hines Ward and Emmitt Smith, gymnasts Laurie Hernandez and Shawn Johnson, race car driver Helio Castroneves and speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno.

Howard played 18 seasons in the NBA and was one of the best rebounders in the game, grabbing 14,627 rebounds, which is 10th on the all-time list.

But as great as the 6-foot-1 Atlanta native was, he never really got along with his teammates and coaches. That may explain why one of the brightest prospects of his generation ended up playing for seven different NBA teams, including three stints with the Los Angeles Lakers.

TV viewers will also be familiar with this season’s DWTS contestants Tran and Joey Graziadei.

Tran was the runner-up on season 28 of “The Bachelor,” which featured tennis player Graziadei.

Tran then became the star of “The Bachelorette,” and the 21st season of that franchise came to a heartbreaking close on Tuesday.

She took the unusual step of proposing to Devin Strader, who said yes but then ditched her over the phone a few days later, leaving the aspiring medical assistant as single as she was when she started the two dating shows.

Another big name in the series is Spelling, the former star of “Beverly Hills 90210” and daughter of famed television producer Aaron Spelling.

Other participants include former New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola, gymnastics bronze medalist Stephen Nedoroscik, social media star and rugby bronze medalist Ilona Maher, attorney and “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks, actor Eric Roberts, “Family Matters” actor Reginald VelJohnson, model Brooks Nader and former Disney star Chandler Kinney.
