‘America’s Got Talent’ Teen Cheerleader Collapses in Apparent Suicide

A teenage cheerleader from California committed suicide weeks after performing on “America’s Got Talent,” sources say.

The body of 17-year-old Emily Gold was found under an overpass in Rancho Cucamonga just before midnight on Friday in a case that authorities are treating as a suicide, the Daily Mail reported.

The car had been run over several times before it was recovered, including by a vehicle that failed to stop, the California Highway Patrol told the newspaper.

Her death comes a month after her Los Osos High School cheerleading squad performed in the quarterfinals of NBC’s reality show “America’s Got Talent.”

Gold and her teammates impressed the judges, including Simon Cowell, who gave them a rare standing ovation after their audition in May.

“The time we spent together will never be enough,” Gold’s brother Alex wrote in an Instagram post. “Half of my heart is gone without you… Rest in heaven Emily Gold because it will always be your world.”

Friends, community members and fans of the dancer donated more than $26,000 to a GoFundMe page on Sunday in support of her Gold family.

“Let’s come together as a community and support the Gold family during this difficult time. Please know that these funds will go directly to the family to support them and help with expenses,” wrote the page’s organizer, Jeanette Fierro.
