Adrian Martinez and several former Huskers are looking to secure a spot on NFL rosters

As the NFL preseason draws to a close, former Nebraska and Kansas State quarterbacks Adrian Martinez I hope he did enough to secure a spot on the Jets’ roster.

Martinez joined the Jets pre-season following a successful UFL season in which he won the UFL MVP award and won a championship with the Birmingham Stallions.

He finished his final preseason game, completing 12 of his 20 pass attempts for 99 yards. The Jets defeated the Giants 10-6, as Martinez helped the team go 3-0 in the preseason.

Martinez’s total passing yards in the preseason went 25-for-47 through the air. He threw one interception and no touchdowns. The dual-threat quarterback also rushed for 51 yards on six attempts.

While veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers is expected to be the Jets’ starting quarterback, Martinez also shared preseason snaps with fellow veteran Tyrod Taylor and rookie Andrew Peasley.
