Aaron Rodgers enjoys Jets win on Instagram: ‘This is 40’

Aaron Rodgers is ready for more.

Shortly after recording a convincing 24-3 victory over the rivals Patriots on Thursday, the Jets QB celebrated his first win at MetLife Stadium on Instagram.

“W,” he wrote on his story, sharing a celebratory Jets post, adding a heart and an “I love you” gesture, along with a “ThisIs40” hashtag.

Rodgers finished the night — his first home game with the Jets since torn his Achilles tendon in the 2023 season opener — with 281 yards on 27 of 35 passing and two touchdowns.

To allay any fears about his surgically repaired leg, he added three rushes for a total of 18 yards, much to the delight of the crowd, who chanted his name during the “Thursday Night Football” spectacle.

“It was a very special night,” Rodgers told reporters. “All those chants are very meaningful.”

The game featured some old-school elements for the quarterback.

He connected with Allen Lazard, his regular Packers receiver, three times for 48 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. It was the third score for the wideout, who led the league after reaching the end zone twice in the season opener at San Francisco.

“Going into the game in San Francisco, I told him I wanted the first touchdown he threw as a Jet. And after I got it, his first touchdown here at JetLife Stadium,” Lazard said. “The way his season ended here last year and everything, it was a special moment for us. Just so happy for him. For him to be able to come back here, 40 years old, just coming off an Achilles injury, playing three games in 10 days, I’m proud of everybody, especially him. And it was a special moment for us.”

Oh, and it was the first in Rodgers’ MetLife ledger.

A year after an injury, the 40-year-old QB is ready to start a new chapter for Gang Green fans.

“We’re trying to change this whole attitude here, we’re trying to build something special here, get these fans to believe in us,” Rodgers told Prime Video’s Kaylee Hartung after the game. “They’ve been tortured for a long time. Last year was obviously a tough year, but it’s good to be back, it’s good to be healthy.

“Again, I’m grateful to the many people who have brought me to this point, but it’s great to be a Jet, great to have nights like this.”
