10 Games Coming Out in 2024 That You’ve Probably Forgotten About

There were so many games released this year that it can be hard to keep track of them all… or maybe you don’t want to remember them at all.

I know it’s not 2025 yet, but hear me out. The only real candidates for GOTY so far are Rise of the Ronin, Dragon Dogma 2and the final boss of video games, the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. With few options to choose from this year, it might be time to reevaluate the video game releases of 2024 and look back at what we’ve been playing (and forget) along the road.

So, here are 10 Video Games Coming Out in 2024 That You’ve Probably Forgotten About.

The 10 Video Game Releases You Probably Forgot About

1) Foam stars

Released in early February, Foam stars came and went in the blink of an eye. It’s a shocking entry from Square Enix that essentially killed its own interest with its use of AI art, but it was quickly overlooked when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was released later that same month. A PlayStation exclusive, Foam stars would quickly be overshadowed by another PlayStation game which was released just two days later. Helldivers 2 took over PlayStation for the remainder of February and reached record highs, making Foam stars a game from the past.

2) Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

I think many actively choose to forget Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League‘s release. 90 percent of player base lost in first three weeks of his release, End the Justice League hit hard and missed completely. It’s been described as monotonous, repetitive, and unimaginative. The only positive thing our Dot critic mentioned was the voice acting, but that wasn’t enough to save this game.

3) The Outlast Processes

Re-released in Early Access on May 18, 2023, The Outlast Processes‘ full release in 2024 felt like nothing had changed. While you can now play with friends on other platforms, it’s a case of running away from the same Ex-Pop members over and over again made the game repetitive very quickly. The program goals repeated themselves, the maps and enemies remained the same, and the fear was gone. Who can say exactly when we left the Murkoff facility? Was it in 2023, or did we escape in 2024?

4) Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed clash

Similar to End the Justice LeagueI sincerely believe that gamers have chosen to forget about this 2024 entry. With 2010 graphics, glitchy animations, and annoying dialogue, Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed clashThe simplicity of ‘s did not have a positive impact on the anime fighting genre. The hefty price tag for an unpolished game justified the mixed reviews on Steam. As a Jiu-jitsu Kaisen fan, what kind of game was this anyway?

5) Only in the dark

Released on March 20th, I really enjoyed my experience with Alone in the dark (apart from the horrible collectibles bug). But its downfall came the moment it came out, and it was a fall from grace that no one could have stopped. Alone in the dark didn’t stand a chance against Dragon Dogma 2 (March 21) And Rise of the Ronin (March 22). These huge games took the attention away from the Alone in the dark remake, and turned it into a game that many will have long forgotten.

6) System shock

There have been a lot of remakes lately. Unfortunately, System shock is not at the top of the list for 2024, and I blame his dated gameplay. It’s a faithful remake that kept the core mechanics in check, while also giving players free-roam and puzzles that kept you stimulated at all times. However, while System shock is a good game and a favorite among people who like to figure out what to do all the time. There is a good chance that this game will be long forgotten by 2025.

7) Killer Klowns from Space: The Game

Murderous Clowns From Space feels like a game that was announced 10 years ago but never actually came out. In reality, this game came out in June 2024 and flew under the radar right away. Murderous Clowns From Space has a higher price than Dead in daylightalthough both games use the same killer-survivor format. With an all-time peak of 4,333 concurrent players, Murderous clowns will probably be remembered as a DBD copy instead of being praised for paying homage to the source material.

8) Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition

I was excited to get a copy of Beyond Good and Evil after missing the original in 2003. While I wasn’t expecting a full-blown remake or remaster (this isn’t The last of us), the stuttering and drop in frame rate made me think I had my PS2 connected. It’s easy to forget that this game came out in 2024, just based on how it looks and playsbut the worst part was that I had to install a new launcher just to play one game.

9) Home Safety Line

Home Safety Hotline felt like it was already coming out in 2021/22. I actually forgot I played this earlier this year, and while that doesn’t mean the game is bad (I actually loved it), Home Safety Hotline was seriously overshadowed by later indie releases to like FNAF: In the pit, Crowland, Shinkansen train 0And Indigo Park. Analog horror and clearly inspired by the Mandela Catalogue, Home Safety Hotline is an underrated video game, but released too early to be a top horror game for 2024.

10) Content Warning

Unlike other Deadly business copies, Content warning combined the popular streams about exploring abandoned houses and hunting ghosts with LC‘s monsters. It sounded like the perfect mix for the indie horror community and was initially well received. But what was initially an interesting twist on Deadly business‘S The core gameplay quickly became much more limited than its rivalThe gameplay became boring, the monsters repetitive, and the Old World blended into one whole. Content warning released a few updates.
