LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The era of iconic hotel and casino implosions in Las Vegas began in 1993 with the demolition of the dunes, paving the way for the construction of the Bellagio.

Over the years, a total of twenty buildings have been dramatically demolished, reshaping the city’s skyline.

Notable demolitions included the Sands in 1996, the Aladdin in 1998 and the Riviera in 2016.

These implosions marked the end of an era for some of Las Vegas’ most famous landmarks, creating space for new developments and attractions.
