A Frontier Airlines flight landed safely after pilots detected smoke and “declared an emergency” as the plane attempted to land at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Flight 1326 from San Diego was “landing” at LAS Saturday afternoon when “pilots detected smoke and declared an emergency,” Frontier Airlines said in a statement. The Federal Aviation Authority said in a statement that the emergency landing occurred “after the crew reported smoke in the cockpit.”

Video footage captured the incident, showing flames beneath the plane and a trail of smoke it followed as it came to rest on the runway.

“The aircraft landed safely and all passengers and crew were evacuated via air stairs,” the airlines said, adding no injuries were reported.

Airport officials told CNN that the plane “made a hard landing that essentially blew the tires.” The airport did not immediately respond to USA TODAY’s request for an update on the incident.

“Fire & Rescue extinguished a fire on the right engine,” the FAA said.

There were a total of 190 passengers and seven crew members on board the flight from San Diego, according to the statement.

Following the incident, the Federal Aviation Authority issued a ground stop at the airport until 7 p.m. Saturday, CNN reported.

Frontier said in its statement that the cause of the fire was under investigation.

The National Transportation Safety Board will also investigate the incident, the agency said in a post on X Sunday.
