Panthers vs. Bears Week 5 preview

CHICAGO, IL. (BLACK & BLUE KICKOFF LIVE) — For the second straight game, Andy Dalton will play one of his former teams. This week the Panthers travel to the Windy City to take on the Chicago Bears.

Although the Panthers lost to the Bengals in Week 4, they scored at least 30 points in consecutive games, something they haven’t done since Weeks 5 and 6 in 2019 (five years ago). The offense is certainly improving and is led by Dalton, who has 539 passing yards, five passing touchdowns and just one interception in two starts. According to NFL.comhe currently has a QB rating of 101.4, which ranks second only in his entire career behind the 2015 season (106.2).

The Bears’ offense, on the other hand, hasn’t had a great season thus far, which should help the injured Panthers defense. The Bears rank bottom five in QB rating, passing yards per attempt, rushing yards and yards per carry.

The Panthers are 4-8 in 12 previous games against the Bears. Carolina has lost its last three and six of its last seven, including 16-13 last year, which was also in Chicago.

Sunday’s Week 5 game between the Panthers and Bears from Solider Field begins at 1:00 PM on FOX Charlotte.
