Golden Knights sign PTO to one-year contract

The Vegas Golden Knights have signed Tanner Pearson to a one-year contract after he played all of training camp in a professional tryout.

Pearson’s one-year contract has an AAV of $775,000. The 32-year-old played in four of the Golden Knights’ five preseason games, recording two goals and three points. His size and speed fit nicely with the way the Golden Knights want to play. He is focused without the puck and is a reliable two-way player.

Pearson previously spent parts of eleven seasons in the NHL, playing a total of 644 games for the Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Vancouver Canucks and Montreal Canadiens. The Kitchener, Ontario native played in 54 games with the Canadiens last year, recording five goals and 13 points.

The 6’1, left-handed winger was a Stanley Cup champion with the Kings and is a former 2012 first-round pick.

Pearson will provide the team with reliable defensive play and veteran experience for some of the younger players the Golden Knights bring into their lineup.
