“We are devastated and have many questions about how this happened 45 days ago when, like so many of you, we heard about it through the media,” Shannon Amos wrote in a caption on a post on her official Instagram account.

Amos, best known for his role as patriarch James Evans Sr. in Good Times, died on August 21 at the age of 84 in Los Angeles. His death, of natural causes, was announced on October 1 by his son KC.

Shannon Amos added on Instagram: “This should be a time to honor and celebrate his life, yet we are struggling to navigate the wave of emotions and uncertainties surrounding his passing. Yet there is some semblance of peace in knowing that my father is finally free.”
