Team news: Unchanged for PSG, Merino on the bench | Team news | News

Mikel Arteta has named an unchanged squad for tonight’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain, but Mikel Merino is fit enough for a place on the bench.

The boss has kept faith in the same starting XI that faced Leicester City on Saturday and recorded a 4-2 success to extend our unbeaten run to fourteen matches, meaning Riccardo Calafiori can feature after suffering a blow late in that game.

There is another boost now that Merino is included in our competition selection for the first time after recovering from a shoulder injury. The Spaniard could make his debut if introduced from the bench.

PSG have now made four changes to their side, with the headline news seeing Ousmane Dembele left at home for disciplinary reasons and his place in the line-up taken by £45m summer recruit Desire Doue.

Gianluigi Donnarumma returns in goal after missing the last four games with a muscle injury, while Nuno Mendes returns at left back after recovering from a virus.

Vitinha is also fit again and replaces Fabian Ruiz in central midfield, while Marco Ascensio is strong enough for a place on the bench.
