Pittsburgh Steelers are in first place in the AFC

After beating the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3, the Pittsburgh Steelers moved to 3-0 for the first time since 2020, remaining in pole position in the AFC North and sharing the league’s best record with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Steelers put on a great defense during their 20-10 win over the Chargers, allowing just 168 yards of total offense and five sacks.

Pittsburgh’s offense also had its best game of the young season so far, breaking the 20-point mark for the first time and racking up 346 yards.

The Steelers travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts in Week 4. They return home in Week 5 for a Sunday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Elsewhere in the division, the Baltimore Ravens avoided their first 0-3 start since 2015 by defeating the Dallas Cowboys 28-25. They held a 28-6 lead with less than 10 minutes left in the game before nearly collapsing in heartbreaking fashion, though they did just enough to ultimately pull out the win.

With a 1-2 record, Baltimore faces a tough test as the Buffalo Bills play at home on Sunday Night Football in Week 4.

A week after recording a satisfying win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Cleveland Browns fell to 1-2 on Sunday after a shocking 21-15 loss to the New York Giants at home. Their offense managed just 212 total yards and gave up eight sacks on the day.

However, Cleveland has a chance to quickly turn the tide as it plays away against the Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders in Weeks 4 and 5 respectively.

The Cincinnati Bengals will look to erase their first 0-3 start since 2019 when they take on the Commanders at home on Monday night. They are coming off a hard-fought 26-25 loss to the Chiefs in Week 2.

Cincinnati visits the Carolina Panthers in Week 4 and then plays Baltimore in Week 5.

The Steelers, along with the Seattle Seahawks, are the only teams in the NFL to hold a two-game lead in their division after three weeks.

ESPN’s Football Power Index currently gives Pittsburgh an 80% chance of reaching the postseason, which are the third-highest odds in the AFC and fourth-highest in the NFL. Interestingly enough, however, it also gives them the sixth-lowest odds of any team to win their division.

Regardless, the Steelers should feel good about where they are. They couldn’t have had a better start to their campaign, and they’ve looked impressive every step of the way. Historically, teams that start 3-0 have about a 75% chance of making the playoffs, so it’s safe to say they’re headed in the right direction.
