The stars are getting ready to hit the dance floor as the season premiere of “Dancing With the Stars” approaches.

Season 33 has been controversial even before it airs because of one of its competitors: convicted fraudster and influencer Anna Delvey. Other stars include athletes, reality TV stars and actors.

Here’s what you need to know about the new season of DWTS ahead of the premiere:

When does ‘Dancing With the Stars’ premiere?

Season 33 of DWTS premieres on Tuesday, September 17 at 8 p.m.

How to Watch ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Fans can watch DWTS on ABC and Disney+ and the following day on Hulu.

Who’s competing on Season 33 of ‘Dancing With the Stars’?

These are all the contestants on the new season of DWTS, along with their partners and who you might know them from:

Anna Delvey

Anna Delvey, also known as Anna Sorokin, is the subject of the Netflix series “Inventing Anna.” She was convicted in 2019 of defrauding banks, hotels and people of $275,000 to fund her extravagant lifestyle, the Associated Press reported.

In season 33 of ‘DWTS’ she competes against new professional dancer Ezra Sosa.

Brooks Nader

Brooks Nader is a swimsuit model for Sports Illustrated. She will dance with Gleb Savchenko.

Chandler Kinney

Chandler Kinney is an actress who has appeared in films including the “Zombies” franchise and television series including “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.”

Kinney will dance with Brandon Armstrong.

Danny Amendola

Danny Amendola is a former NFL player and will be dancing with Witney Carson.

Dwight Howard

Former NBA player Dwight Howard will dance with Daniella Karagach.

Eric Roberts

Oscar-nominated actor Eric Roberts is known for titles like “Runaway Train” and “The Dark Knight.” You may also notice him because of his famous family members: Julia Roberts’ brother and Emma Roberts’ father.

Roberts’ partner is Britt Stewart.

Ilona Maher

American Olympic rugby star and TikTok sensation Ilona Maher takes on professional dancer Alan Bersten.

“It’s almost like this is a cool rite of passage,” Maher told USA TODAY. “So many of my Olympic idols, from Simone Biles to Suni Lee, did ‘Dancing.’ And it’s a new skill that takes me out of my comfort zone.”

The athlete admitted that ballroom dancing on a national stage is daunting. Even thinking about the hours of training and performing live in front of an audience can be “overwhelming,” she said. Maher has no formal dance training and few of the required skills are borrowed from hard-hitting rugby.

Jenn Tran

Jenn Tran, star of Season 21 of “The Bachelorette,” is teaming up with Sasha Farber.

Joey Graziadei

The star of season 28 of “The Bachelor” will compete against Jenna Johnson.

Phaedra Parks

Phaedra Parks from “Real Housewives of Atlanta” dances with Val Chmerkovskiy.

Reginald VelJohnson

Reginald VelJohnson is an actor known for his roles in “Family Matters” and “Die Hard”. He is going to dance with Emma Slater.

Stephen Nedoroscik

Olympic medalist Stephen Nedoroscik, also known as the ‘horse man’, will compete with Rynee Arnold.

Tori spelling

Tori Spelling, a former student of “90210,” will dance with Pasha Pashkov.

“It’s been a crazy journey because for 32 seasons they made the decision and I said no,” Spelling said.

Her reasoning was always an overwhelming fear of dancing on national TV, which was made worse when she was in the studio audience cheering on fellow “90210” alums Ian Ziering (season 4) and Jennie Garth (season 5). “Both experiences made me even more scared, and just seeing how hard it all was,” Spelling said.
