QB Change Decision on Best Chance to Win This Week

Defensive line leans on each other as they adjust to injuries

Defensive end A’Shawn Robinson said he’s “awesome” after limping off the field Sunday against the Chargers.

“I just got a little banged up in the game and I feel good,” Robinson said. “Nothing major happened to me. I kept playing, played the whole game.”

According to Dave Canales, nose tackle Shy Tuttle has “a foot injury that we are currently evaluating.” More information on the severity of Tuttle’s injury should be available later this week.

The Panthers’ defensive line is coming off a game in which they gave up over 200 yards on the ground (219 total). In their first outing without Derrick Brown, Robinson said, “I don’t think we’ve lived up to our brother’s standard and I think we just have to play with the right technique and execute our game plan and just be who we are.”

“A team that perseveres, works hard, perseveres, works hard and does whatever it takes to get better,” Robinson said.

Whether it’s looking back at the game against the Chargers, or looking ahead to the game against the Raiders and what the defensive line will face there, Nick Thurman said the question isn’t about either of those teams, but “what the Panthers are going to do.”

“We’ve got to get better. We’ve got to come as a more cohesive unit. We’ve got to believe in each other. We’ve got to believe in our plan,” Thurman continued.

As the Panthers defense awaits news on Tuttle’s status and continues to adjust to a schedule that doesn’t include Brown, Thurman is confident the mindset is right to move forward.

“I think one thing I can take away from last year is even when everything was bad, we all stuck together,” Thurman said. “We all had that attitude that no matter what, we were going to prepare to win. And I think that attitude still exists in this locker room.”
