Chiefs beat Bengals, 26-25, in thrilling final minute

It was part of a great play for Conner, who later tackled Burrow on third down in the fourth quarter. The play forced the Bengals, who scored a go-ahead field goal right after Conner’s touchdown, to punt the ball away with just two minutes, 35 seconds left in the game.

The Chiefs quickly found themselves in a long fourth down situation on their next possession, but a pass interference call extended the drive and set up Butker for a potentially game-winning, 51-yard field goal attempt. Butker came through, and after a wild game that featured a series of momentum swings throughout the game, Kansas City emerged victorious.

It was another example of the Chiefs’ resilience under Mahomes, who on Sunday tied Tom Brady and Roger Staubach for the most quarterback wins (76) in 100 starts in NFL history.

“Until the clock hits zero, I think there’s a chance (we) can win the football game,” Mahomes said. “Obviously, we’ve done that in so many different ways, so we’re prepared. We come with that mentality that if we get the football with a chance to win the game, we’re going to do it, and we were able to do that today.”

In terms of injuries, running back Isiah Pacheco was the only player to leave the game early for Kansas City. Reid provided a brief update on Pacheco’s status following the win.

“We’ll have to wait and see. He’s going to have some tests done now – x-rays and all that kind of stuff,” Reid said. “I can’t tell you what it is exactly, but he came out with an ankle (injury).”

The Chiefs play a game against the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday night on Sunday Night Football.
