Megan Thee Stallion to Perform ‘Mamushi,’ ‘Hiss’ and More at the 2024 MTV VMAs: Watch

The rapper entertained the audience all night long as the host of the show

Megan Thee Stallion brought her poisonous Megane album era to the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday night with a massive medley including “BOA,” “BAS,” “Hiss” and “Mamushi.”

Her late-night stint as the awards show host didn’t stop her from pumping her infectious energy into sharp choreography, some of her toughest bars (most notably the infamous “Megan’s Law” line that infuriated Nicki Minaj earlier this year), and a performance that found her running around New York’s UBS Arena. She ran through multiple sets in a bandage bikini, accompanied by dozens of dancers and drummers. She introduced her “Mamushi” co-star, Yuki Chiba, when he joined her onstage for their finale in his first VMAs performance.

In addition to entertaining the audience as the show’s host, Megan Thee Stallion also garnered seven nominations. Her GloRilla collaboration “Wanna Be” earned nominations for Best Collaboration and Song of the Summer, while “Mamushi” won Best Trending Video.

“BOA”, which served as the lead single on Meganewas nominated for Best Hip Hop and Best Director under Daniel Iglesias Jr., Best Visual Effects under Mathematic and Best Art Direction under Brittany Porter.

Megane came out in June with “BOA,” “Cobra” and “Hiss” as lead singles. The album featured 16 tracks, including collaborations with Victoria Monét, GloRilla and UGK. “This is music that I would be into if I wasn’t Megan Thee Stallion,” she said in an interview with The Official earlier this year. “I don’t want to say I’m tapping into other genres. I’m just tapping into other sounds. But it’s still Megan Thee Stallion. It doesn’t feel like I’ve gone that far left. It feels true to me. You’re almost like, ‘I didn’t think she’d rap that, but this sounds amazing.’”
