PITTSBURGH – The AVCA announced Monday afternoon that Pitt volleyball has been ranked No. 1 in the AVCA/Taraflex Division I poll for the first time in program history. The Panthers reached No. 2 in week six of the 2021 season, resulting in their first Final Four appearance.

The Panthers were in the top 10 every week last season, with their best results being fourth place in week 14 and the final round.

Pitt enters Week 3 undefeated at 3-0 as it heads to California for a trio of games. The Panthers will face No. 23 USC, Pepperdine and UC Santa Barbara. With a win over the Trojans, Pitt will earn its second top 25 win of the young season.
