When is Tom Brady’s first NFL broadcast? How to watch on Sept. 8

play

Tom Brady is about to begin his “rookie year” as an NFL commentator.

Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion, is expected to cover the Week 1 game between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Sept. 8.

Brady signed a 10-year, $375 million contract with FOX Sports, replacing Greg Olsen, another former NFL star turned commentator.

Brady, who has been rehearsing “a lot” for his debut, said in an interview with Curt Menefee that he hopes people who watch will see how much he loves football.

“How do I understand the mechanics of broadcasting and network television?” Brady said. “Now that I’ve gone through that process, I’ve just gotten back to being me. To see clearly what I see on the field. And what people will hopefully see is my love for the game.”

The game takes place on September 8 at 4:25 p.m. EST and Brady will be in the booth with Kevin Burkhardt, Fox’s lead NFL play-by-play commentator.

Brady went 7-1 against the Cowboys over 23 seasons, suffering his only loss in the 2022 NFC wild-card matchup. Despite that, he said he was happy to call his former rival’s season opener.
