Greer Garrison-Winbury (Nicole Kidman)

Greer is the mother of the groom, Benji, and she has taken over the planning of the wedding down to the smallest detail. Greer is a renowned author, whose Dolly Hardaway murder mystery novels make up a large part of the Winburys’ wealth. She even has one coming out after the wedding — Death in Dubai.

Nicole Kidman previously worked with director Susanne Bier on the limited series The Undoing, in which she starred opposite Hugh Grant. Kidman is also known for her role as Satine in The Moulin Rouge!Ada Monroe in Cold mountain (2003), Celeste Wright in Big little liesGretchen Carlson in Bomb (2019), Lucille Ball in The Ricardos are (2021), Kaitlyn Meade in Taylor Sheridans Lioness and Brooke Harwood in A family affair (2024). Her next film Baby girl premiered in Venice, and the A24 erotic thriller also stars Harris Dickinson. Kidman will reprise her role as Masha Dmitrichenko in season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers. Another highly anticipated project that will see her collaborate with the other famous Fanning sister, Elle, is the adaptation of Rufi Thorpe’s Margot has money problems.

Thomas ‘Tag’ Winbury (Liev Schreiber)

Tag Winbury is the patriarch to Greer’s matriarch, and for fans of Greer’s books, the Dash to her Dolly. In the book, his real name is Thomas, like their eldest son. Tag allows Greer to guide much of their relationship and marriage, and they are marketed as The Perfect Couple.

Schreiber is known for his role as Victor Creed in X-Men Origin: Wolverine (2009) and Marty Baron in In the spotlight (2015). He also played Raymond Shaw in The Manchurian Candidate (2004) and JJ Kellogg in Asteroid cityHe appeared in A little light as Otto Frank.

Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson)

Amelia Sacks is the bride-to-be of the limited series. Her name in Hilderbrand’s book is Celeste Otis, and she is set to marry into the wealthy Winbury family in a lavish ceremony and a series of events on Nantucket Island.

Eve Hewson, daughter of U2’s lead singer Bono (Paul Hewson), is also known for her role as Flora in John Carney’s Flora and son (2023) and Tess in Enough said (2013). She appeared as Marian in Robin Hood (2018) and Carol Donovan in Bridge of Spies (2015). She also played Becka Garvey in Bad sisters on Apple TV+ and the series’ second season will be released in November 2024.

Benji Winbury (Billy Howle) (Right)

Benji is the groom and future husband of Amelia. He is the middle child of Greer’s three sons with his older brother Thomas and younger brother Will. Benji is sweet, but also a bit mysterious. He loves to paint.

Billy Howle has appeared in Dunkirk (2017), Outlaw King (2018) and Star Wars Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

Merritt Monaco (Meghann Fahy)

Merritt Monaco is Amelia’s best friend and bridesmaid. She is also an influencer. Merritt is excited to support Amelia in her upcoming wedding.

Meghann Fahy played Daphne Sullivan in season 2 of The White LotusSutton Brady in The fat typeClara Thompson in Mrs Sloane and Young Caroline in The Lost Valentine (2011).

Abby Winbury (Dakota Fanning)

Abby Winbury advises Amelia to stay on the fringes of the Winbury family, but she has dirt on almost everyone. Abby is Thomas’ wife and soon-to-be mother of their first child. She loves to gossip.

Dakota Fanning is known for her roles as Lucy in I Am Sam (2001), Lupita Ramos in Man on Fire, Rachel Ferrier in War of the Worlds (2005), and Lily Owens in The Secret Life of Bees (2008). She played Cale Crane in Dreamer opposite Kurt Russel, and she also played Fern Arable in Charlotte’s Web (2006). She provided the voice of the title character Coraline Jones in Henry Selick’s Coraline (2009). She appeared as Jane in the Twilight films and also played Penelope Stern in Ocean’s Eight (2018). More recently, she played Susan Elizabeth Ford in The First Lady, Emma Collins in The Equalizer 3 (2023), Marge Sherwood in Ripley (2024), and Mina in The Watchers (2024).

Thomas Winbury Jr. (Jack Reynor)

Thomas Winbury is the eldest of Greer and Tag’s sons. He is married to Abby (Dakota Fanning) who is pregnant with their first child.

Jack Reynor played Burton Fisher in The peripheryChristian in Midsummer (2019), Shane Dyson in Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) and Brendan in Singing Street (2016). He also starred with Eve Hewson in Flora and son (2023).

Will Winbury (Sam Nivola)

Will is the youngest Winbury brother, and he is not in Hilderbrand’s book. He is about to turn 18, but he is a little more sheltered than his two older brothers.

Sam Nivola played Alexander Bernstein in MasterLee Pol in Eileen and Heinrich in White noise (2022). He will also appear in season 3 of The White Lotus.

Shooter Dival (Isaan Khatter)

Shooter Dival is Benji’s best friend from childhood and he will also be Benji’s best man at the wedding. He is like family to the Winburys.

Isaan Chatter recently appeared in Pippa (2023) as Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. He also played Raghav Manavalan Don’t look up (2021) and Amir in Beyond the clouds (2017).

Chloe Carter (Mia Isaac)

Chloe is the teenage daughter of police chief Dan Carter. She works as a caterer when she’s not running around like a typical teenager.

Mia Isaac is known for her role as Coventina ‘Covey’ Brown in Black cakeRowan in Not okay and Wally Park in Don’t let me go. She also played Aurora in Meko Winbush’s Project Green Light film Gray matter (2023).

Nikki Henry (Donna Lynne Champlin)

Detective Nikki Henry, who played Greek Nick in Elin Hilderbrand’s book, is a no-nonsense mother who wants to solve the case as quickly as possible. Her instincts guide the investigation because she doesn’t have to deal with the bureaucracy of funding from the Winburys to the Nantucket police.

Donna Lynne Champlin played Paula Proctor in Crazy ex girlfrienda Broadway lady in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Excellence) and Mrs. Veda in Yes, God Yes (2019).

Karen Sacks (Dendrie Taylor)

Karen is Amelia’s mother and she has cancer. Benji and Amelia moved their wedding up to July 4th to accommodate her schedule because the cancer is terminal.

Taylor played Luann Delaney in Sons of AnarchyGail ‘Red Dog’ Eklund in The fighter (2010) and Margaret in Peace in the Valley (2022).

Isabel Nallet (Isabelle Adjani)

Isabel Nallet is a French family friend of Greer and Tag. Her book base is Featherleigh Dale.

Isabelle Adjani played Anna Possess (1981), Adèle Hugo in The story of Adele H. (1975) and Lucy Harker in Nosferatu the Vampire (1979).

Dan Carter (Michael Beach) (right)

Dan Carter is tasked with solving the murder mystery clouding the wedding of Benji Winbury and Amelia Sacks. He teams up with Detective Nikki Henry to piece together what happened on the fateful night before what should have been the wedding of the year.

Michael Beach is known for his role as Mark in Tulsa KingGuard Kareem Moore in Mayor of KingstownDetective Murphy in the second part of Ryan Murphu’s Sample anthology, which will follow Lyle and Erik Menendez. He also played Manta’s father Jesse in Acame (2018).

Enid Collins is Greer’s regular editor. Hyacinth and Brad are her PR managers.
