Labor Day in the Philadelphia area will be mostly sunny and offer pleasant conditions

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — We welcomed an astronomical, or meteorological, fall on Sunday, with humid and warm conditions. On Labor Day Monday, the Philadelphia region should expect mostly sunny skies following the cold front that brought showers and sprinkles to the area, along with highs in the 75-80 degree range.

We will start the day with more clouds and lows in the 60s (50s north and west). The region can expect much lower humidity and a light northerly wind in the afternoon on Monday.

Tuesday and Wednesday we will be treated to a taste of fall with highs in the mid to high 70s and lows in the mid 50s. Days with lots of sun and low humidity.

Thursday sees the start of a transitional period with increasing cloudiness and seasonal temperatures of around 27 degrees Celsius.

Another storm system with rain and a chance of storms will arrive on Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will drop to the 70s again.

If you take a dip in the sea water, temperatures along the coast are around 21 degrees Celsius. There is little chance of rip currents.
