Matthew Gaudreau’s wife Madeline pregnant with their first child after his death

Madeline Gaudreau, the wife of Matthew Gaudreau, who was killed on Thursday while riding a bike with his brother Johnny, is pregnant with their first child.

Madeline’s sister, Holland Korbitz, set up a GoFundMe page on Friday to support her and her unborn baby and expressed the family’s grief.

“During this unimaginably difficult time, we are coming together to support Matthew’s wife Madeline and their growing baby Tripp and to help ease some of the financial burdens they are now facing,” she wrote on the fundraising page.

“Your support gives them time off from work so they can grieve and heal as a family.”

As of Friday evening, the page had raised more than $150,000 for Madeline and Tripp.

Additionally, Babylist has a baby list for Tripp.

Both the registry and Korbitz confirmed that Tripp is due in December.

While Madeline’s social media is private, she can be seen in a photo on Katie Gaudreau’s Instagram page holding her growing baby bump.

Katie — Matthew and Johnny’s sister — was supposed to get married on Friday. Her wedding was canceled after the devastating deaths of her brothers.

Matthew and Johnny were killed Thursday night by a suspected drunk driver who struck them with his Jeep while they were cycling along County Route 551 in Salem County, NJ.

The suspect, Sean M. Higgins, was taken into custody by police and charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter.

According to a New Jersey police officer’s affidavit, he admitted to drinking five to six beers before getting behind the wheel.

“Last night we lost two husbands, two fathers, two sons, two brothers, two sons and brothers-in-law, two nephews, two cousins, two family members, two teammates, two friends, but truly two wonderful people,” Matthew and Johnny’s uncle shared in a statement on behalf of the bereaved families on Friday on X.

“We want everyone to know that we receive your messages of love and support and appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers.”

The message ended with: “We ask for your continued respect and privacy during this very difficult time of mourning.”
