Four points later, Coco Gauff’s dream of defending her US Open title is still alive!

She had to come from behind to beat 26th-seeded Elina Svitolina (3-6, 6-3, 6-3) in the third round and will face either Emma Navarro (13) or Marta Kostyuk (19) in the last 16.

Gauff improved her game after a first set in which she was completely dominated and eventually managed to get past the Ukrainian. Towards the end of the match she seemed to be suffering from an injury.

Despite his shaky serve throughout the match, it was a very strong performance in the second and third sets from the 20-year-old who — suddenly — looks like a real threat for the title in New York again.

There’s still some work to be done with her first serve.
