It seems that Brittany Mahomes doesn’t like the reactions she’s been getting on social media lately.

The wife of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes faces backlash after liking and then unliking an Instagram post from a Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in recent days. Brittany Mahomes, who is currently pregnant with the couple’s third child, reportedly double-tapped on a message from Trump that outlined the “2024 GOP platform,” which included bullet points like “keep men OUT of women’s sports” and “end weaponizing the government against the American people.”

On Friday, Brittany posted an all-text message to Instagram Story that didn’t directly reference Trump or what she opposed, but instead addressed “haters.”

“I mean honestly,” she wrote. “To be a hater as an adult you have to have some deep rooted issues that you refuse to heal from your childhood. There is no reason why your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others do well.”

She has never explicitly endorsed a presidential candidate and is currently not following Trump on Instagram.

Husband Patrick Mahomes told Time in April that he would also not speak publicly about his choice of candidates.

“I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a particular president,” Patrick said. “I want people to have their voices heard, no matter who they believe. I want them to do the research.”

Of course the couple is friends with Taylor Swift via Travis KelcePatrick’s teammate on the Kansas City Chiefs and Swift’s boyfriend, the two couples have been spotted out socially on several occasions, ringing in the New Year together and even celebrating mutual friendship Blake Lively‘s birthday party at Swift’s Rhode Island estate this past weekend. The Mahomeses were also in the audience alongside Kelce at Swift’s Eras Tour, just as Swift and Brittany have attended several Chiefs games together.

Swift has spoken out against Trump in the past and supported Joe Biden against him in 2020, and many wondered if she would do the same for the upcoming election in support of Kamala Harris. Trump recently shared AI-generated images of young women in “Swifties for Trump” clothing with the caption “I accept!” on social media, implying that the singer herself is supporting him. One of the images is specifically and prominently labeled “SATIRE.” Swift has yet to share a presidential endorsement or respond to Trump’s tweets.

A representative for Patrick Mahomes did not immediately respond to Vanity Fair‘s request for comment.
