Kyler Murray is happy for his college teammate.

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback was among the NFL players who reacted to the Dallas Cowboys’ announcement Monday that they have re-signed wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the contract is worth $136 million over four years and includes a $38 million signing bonus, which is a record for a wide receiver.

Murray gave an Oklahoma twist in his response, while others commented on the financial aspect:

Murray and Lamb did something magical together for the 2018 Sooners.

The quarterback won the Heisman Trophy by completing 69 percent of his passes for 4,361 yards, 42 touchdowns and seven interceptions, while adding 1,001 yards and 12 scores on the ground. Lamb recorded 65 catches for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Oklahoma won the Big 12 title and, led by the duo, qualified for the College Football Playoff.

Lamb showed enough in college to convince the Cowboys to select him with a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft. He’s since become one of the league’s top receivers with a resume that includes three straight Pro Bowl selections.

He was a First-Team All-Pro last season with an NFL-best 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. At 25, there’s no reason to think he can’t improve over the course of this new deal.

Dallas still needs to sign quarterback Dak Prescott or pass rusher Micah Parsons to a long-term deal if it wants to keep its current core together through the life of Lamb’s contract, but Monday’s agreement was an excellent starting point.

The team was able to retain the league’s best wide receiver and can now focus on other things.

And those next deals are likely to generate a lot of reaction as well.
