A new YouGov poll finds that Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, outperforms the former president in a range of apolitical contexts.

For example, more Americans believe Harris would win a cooking contest and a dance contest. The VP is also seen as someone who can handle spicy food better and dresses better.

According to YouGov, she’s also more likely to ‘remember birthdays, keep secrets and give better relationship advice’.

The survey also found that Harris is more likely to return a lost wallet or help a stranger.

But Trump beats Harris by a 29-point margin on the question of who would win in an arm wrestling match.

“More people also think Trump would beat Harris in a poker game and give better financial advice,” the pollster said.

Donald Trump has once again shared an image purportedly generated by artificial intelligence on his Truth Social account, this time of himself riding a lion with the caption: “There is only one president who can make America great again.”

The former US president made the comments after Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the independent presidential candidate, decided on Friday (August 23) to withdraw from the presidential race and endorse Trump.

After Kennedy’s announcement, Trump said, “Barack Obama, he was mean to me.

“He was mean. Michelle was mean. They’re all mean. Mean people. I was surprised, I thought he was, I was kind of nice to him.”

J.D. Vance declared himself a “never Trump man” in 2016. Now that he is Donald Trump’s running mate, the Ohio senator’s words have come back to haunt him in the form of a viral hit on the social media app TikTok.

The 22-second audio clip was created by DJ duo Casa Di and Steve Terrell, who sampled Vance’s comments from a 2016 interview with Charlie Rose while promoting his memoir Elegy of the Country Bumpkin.

In the clip, Vance can be heard saying, “I’m a never-Trump guy. I never liked him.”

That sample was added to Petey Pablo’s hip-hop beat “Freek-a-Leek,” and the resulting track has proven massively popular on TikTok, where it has soundtracked over 8,500 videos in the past month, amassing over 40 million views.

Sure, it may be hard to compete with the carnival charisma of Donald Trump, but another week of campaigning seemed to do little to change the line of attack against Vance.

There were no time-honored political gaffes like dismissing people without traditional families as “childless cat ladies,” but the U.S. senator from Ohio still managed to raise more than enough eyebrows and cause awkward silences.

Trump questioned Harris’ “right to run for president” in a Truth Social post on Friday, saying her taking on the Democratic mantle despite not winning a primary was a “threat” to democracy.

The former president and Republican presidential candidate wrote: “Kamala Harris is the weakest presidential candidate in history on crime. She has allowed millions of people to pour through our borders, many from prisons, mental institutions and, yes, terrorists, who are coming in at levels we have never seen before.”

“What gives her the right to run for president? She didn’t get one of Biden’s 14 million votes. She failed her last run, was the first of 22 to drop out, never made it to Iowa, and now she’s running for president? This is a threat to democracy!” he added.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate Nichole Shanahan said their campaign would never “sell out,” just hours before RFK Jr. endorsed Donald Trump.

“It’s not something we would ever choose to do and we’re not defeated at this point, but I have to say something. We’re up against something that is unprecedented,” she said.
