Yu-Gi-Oh’s $18 Retro Pack Brings Vintage Booster Set to North America for the First Time

There’s never been a better time to be a fan of trading card games, and for those of you who grew up with Yu-Gi-Oh, this special edition booster set will get you ready to duel all over again. The Yu-Gi-Oh TCG: Retro Pack drops today, August 23, and includes a selection of vintage cards and costs just $18. Here’s what you get:

  • 48 regular cards
  • 24 rare cards
  • 10 Super Rare Cards
  • 8 extremely rare cards
  • 11 Secret Rare Cards

The story behind this retro pack is that it was originally an overseas exclusive, as it contained a collection of vintage cards from the early days of the game and was made to catch up with other countries in the American card pool. The exact cards were hard to find in the US unless you wanted to pay an obscene amount of money for them on the reseller market, and this set takes things a step further by including the original card frames, artwork, names, and text.

Another nice touch is that the foil cards have double the drop rates of the original version, so this is a great chance to finally get your hands on that limited edition Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon you’ve been coveting.
