Sophos UK volunteers transform outdoor learning space for autistic young people – Sophos News

A group of 18 Sophos employees recently spent a day volunteering at Prior’s Court, where they work in the Countryside Learning Centre (CLC) – a farm-style environment designed to support the development of autistic young people. The CLC offers these students a unique opportunity to take part in farm-based activities, animal care and therapy sessions, all aimed at improving their skills and wellbeing. The centre also features outdoor classrooms for those who find traditional indoor learning challenging, along with a nature trail.

The Sophos team spent the day enjoying the sunshine whilst working with colleagues they wouldn’t normally interact with in the workplace. Their efforts focused on making the learning areas more accessible and safe for students. This included cutting back overgrown weeds, mowing the grass and clearing paths. They also worked on trimming and mowing the nature trail to ensure safety, tidying up the classroom garden and managing overgrown tree rows and nettles that posed health and safety risks. Their contributions have significantly improved the environment, making it a safer and more welcoming place for all students at Prior’s Court.

The Sophos Employee Volunteering program provides all employees with up to 40 hours per calendar year for volunteer activities. Find out why Sophos is a great place to work and view our latest openings on our careers website.
