If you’re a regular YouTube Premium user, you better brace yourself for some bad news. Subscribers around the world are seeing price hikes for both the Family and Individual plans. In some areas, viewers are seeing a price increase of up to 50%. Ouch.

These came in the form of email notifications sent to YouTube Premium customers over the weekend. Frustrated users took to the YouTube subreddit to protest, with user PastaStregata noting, “I’m sorry, but none of the small changes this multi-billion dollar company has made inspires me to believe that a 50% price increase over the course of a year is justified.”
