Snoop Dogg feels right at home on the set of The VoiceThe rapper, who joined the show as a judge and mentor for season 26, experienced a rite of passage on the reality show: he cried on national television.

The emotional moment came after contestant Kendall Eugene finished her performance of Morgan Wallen’s “Don’t Think Jesus.” Although the judges seemed to enjoy the performance, no one turned their chairs to invite Eugene to join their team.

Coach Reba McEntire, however, seemed to quickly regret that decision. “I don’t know why I didn’t turn around,” she said.

As the coaches provided feedback, McEntire told Eugene, “I liked everything about it.”

Eugene said half-jokingly, “You should have turned around!”

“I was going to say the exact same words,” McEntire replied. Luckily for both Eugene and Team Reba, this season of The Voice has a new trick: a Coach Replay button, which allows coaches to change their minds about a singer.

When McEntire realized she made a mistake by skipping Eugene, she decided to make history The Voice and become the first coach to use the new replay option. “We have something new this year, which is a Coach Replay button. I’m going to use mine,” McEntire said. The crowd roared as she pressed her button and Eugene covered his face with his hands in disbelief and relief.

The emotional moment was too much for Snoop Dogg. “Wow! Give the man a hug,” he said to McEntire. As McEntire and Eugene embraced, the camera panned back to Snoop, just in time to see the rapper lift his glasses to wipe his eyes. It was a sweet moment on an emotional rollercoaster, and a clear sign that Snoop will be a perfect fit as a judge and mentor on the show.
