    Quarterback from top-25 team on Oregon State’s schedule announces he will not play this season

    One of the toughest games on Oregon State’s remaining 2024 schedule took a bizarre turn Tuesday night when UNLV quarterback Matthew Sluka announced he will sit out the remainder of the season.

    UNLV (3-0) is off to its best start to a football season, as the Rebels cracked the coaches’ Top 25 poll for the first time in program history two weeks ago. UNLV will have to make a run at the Mountain West championship without Sluka, who leads the Rebels in passing and rushing.
