Malik Nabers injury update: Giants WR to locker room in fourth quarter vs. Cowboys

Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers made an impact early in his rookie season with the franchise. He was the dominant player they thought he could be. Unfortunately for New York, he went to the locker room late in the fourth quarter on Thursday Night Football after crashing out of bounds and landing on his helmet face first.

Nabers stood up slowly after the match. I spent some time in the medical tent being evaluated by trainers and medical staff before finally heading to the locker room. Shortly afterwards, the Amazon Prime broadcast updated his status, with Al Michaels saying Nabers had a concussion.

The Cowboys won the Thursday Night Football game 20-15 against the Giants. Dallas then sealed the victory Amani Oruwariye had an interception in the final seconds.

That was not possible without an excellent performance from Nabers. He hauled in 12 catches for 115 yards before leaving the game with a concussion.

Through the first four games of his NFL career, Nabers has 35 catches for 386 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He received praise from former LSU star Odell Beckham Jr. on Thursday night.

Nabers played a crucial role in guiding the Giants to a 21–15 victory over the Cleveland Browns on September 22. He hauled in eight catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns, on 12 targets. The former LSU star also shined on September 15 against the Washington Commanders. Although the Giants lost 21-18, Nabers hauled in 10 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown on 18 total targets.

He was expected to get forced targets from head coach Brian Daboll this season, and the Giants head coach has not disappointed. Nabers has reached double figures in three of his four games so far in his rookie campaign. He will likely sit out a week due to his concussion, but expect him to get back on track soon. Because he’s a ridiculously big part of New York’s offensive attack. And it makes perfect sense when you look at his erratic testing numbers and his college production coming into the league.
