Janel Grant’s Attorney: Netflix Documentary Isn’t the Full Story of Vince’s Crimes

Ann Callis, the attorney representing former WWE employee Janel Grant in her sex trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis and WWE, has released a statement regarding the Netflix docuseries Mr. McMahon earlier this week, ahead of its release.

Now that the entire show is available to stream on the service, Callis gave Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston another one, claiming that Mr. McMahon proves that something McMahon claims (unlike several of his closest colleagues) isn’t true — that he and his on-screen character are one and the same. Callis also says the six episodes don’t delve deeply enough into Vince’s alleged crimes, including the abuse of Grant that their trial details:

The Mr. McMahon docuseries makes it clear that there is no difference between Vince McMahon’s on-air persona and his real self, they are one and the same. His “character” – known for violent outbursts, sexual deviance and manipulation – is the real Vince McMahon and exactly what Janel Grant experienced behind closed doors at WWE for years.

While the docuseries fully exposes McMahon’s obsession with power and control, it only scratches the surface of his criminal behavior and fails to tell the full story of his abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking of Ms. Grant. She deserves the chance to tell her story, in her own time and in her own way. We look forward to her day in court and to McMahon finally being held accountable for his actions.

Grant’s case is currently on hold pending a federal investigation into McMahon.
