‘Inside Out 2’ is now on Disney+: Watch this exclusive clip

Get ready to feel the full range of emotions, but most of all joy, in the hit Disney/Pixar film Inside Out 2 is now available to stream on Disney+.

The sequel broke box office records during its theatrical release and became the highest-grossing animated film of all time, grossing $1.7 billion worldwide. That could mean that the film is now available to watch at home, and is being watched about seven times a day, which is being demanded by your kids.

Inside Out 2Arriving nine years after the Oscar-winning original, the film catches up with Riley (Kensington Tallman), now 13 and still adjusting to her new life in San Francisco. Now that she’s reached her high-octane adolescence, the emotions that live in her head and help her navigate life (Amy Poehler’s Joy, Phyllis Smith’s Sadness, Lewis Black’s Anger, etc.) are joined by more complex feelings, led by Maya Hawke’s Anxiety, that claim to know what’s best as Riley grows older.

The film has a 90 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Perhaps most importantly, Beyoncé named it her favorite film of the year in her recent GQ interview on the cover.

‘Inside Out 2’ is brilliant: the win Pixar desperately needs

Poehler has said that in the nearly decade since the first film, audiences have become even more excited and receptive to the franchise’s explorations of complex emotions and mental health, especially among young people.

“People were really ready to talk about fear and how it conflicts with joy, and what toxic positivity is,” she said. “People have just really talked about their feelings for the past 10 years, so it just felt like everyone was ready to meet it where it was.”

To celebrate that you can now watch Inside Out 2 Back home on Disney+, The Daily Beast’s Obsessed has an exclusive clip in which the film’s cast discusses what movies their characters would watch if they were staying home for movie night.

Poehler’s answer for Joy is quick: musicals. “Joy loves musicals, like Singing in the rain And Meet me in St. Louis“, she said. Lewis Black’s choice for Anger—Networkwith his insane tirades, is certainly fitting, as is Tony Hale’s choice for his character, Fear: “He would just go to Care Bear Land.”

Watch the clip above to find out which films Liza Lapira (Disgust) and Paul Thomas Hauser (Embarrassment) chose for their characters, and which Amy Poehler-inspired choice Maya Hawke made for Anxiety.
