High-end con artist Anna Sorokin says she’ll take ‘nothing’ from brief role on ‘DWTS’

Anna Sorokin may have been in jail for a while, but there’s one thing she doesn’t have time for: “Dancing with the Stars.”

The former socialite, now convicted of multiple financial crimes, spent nearly four years in prison and her partner Ezra Sosa was eliminated from ABC’s dance competition on Tuesday’s episode.

Sorokin appeared completely unfazed in her post-elimination interview with host Julianne Hough, who asked Sorokin what she would take away from her time in ballroom.

“Nothing,” Sorokin said to Hough with a short laugh.

Perhaps that’s because Sorokin didn’t spend that much time on the show, as she was one of the first to be eliminated, along with Tori Spelling and her partner Pasha Pashkov, who was also fired on Tuesday.

Sorokin, however, was not finished showing her ambivalence.

In an interview with GMA after the show, she simply said that “it was a new experience” when asked what it was like to be a part of the show. And when asked what her favorite part of the show was, she didn’t beat around the bush.

“Getting knocked out,” Sorokin said with a giggle.

She went on to say that she was “very sad, obviously” to be eliminated from the show so early, and also indicated that the “second chance” she was looking for after her legal troubles has now been “wasted.”

Sorokin was convicted in 2019 of grand larceny and other financial crimes after stealing more than $200,000 and financing a life of luxury while posing as a German heiress with a trust fund. She served two years in prison and another 18 months in immigration custody for overstaying her visa.

The television series “Inventing Anna,” starring Emmy winner Julia Garner, tells Sorokin’s story.

Sorokin has recently been living under house arrest in New York with an ankle monitor while she appeals her deportation order. She previously told People that she had requested and received permission from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to travel to Los Angeles, where the show is produced.

Her bejeweled and sparkly ankle bracelet – visible in the show – has since become her most viral accessory.
