Dallas Cowboys stars ready for MRI on Friday

The Dallas Cowboys earned a big victory over the division rival New York Giants on Thursday Night Football, ending a two-game losing skid, but at what cost?

During the game, starting defensive ends Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence suffered injuries, with Parson being carted to the locker room.

Parsons revealed after the match that X-rays of his foot and ankle came back negative, but he still needs further testing.

Parsons is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Friday.

While the Cowboys organization holds its breath and hopes the All-Pro avoids a serious injury that would sideline him for an extended period of time, Parsons seems optimistic.

“Right now I’m just frozen,” Parsons said in the locker room after the game, according to ESPN.com’s Todd Archer. ‘I know very little. I have an MRI on Friday and I’m going to try to come back next week.”

Because the injury occurred during a Thursday night game, Parsons will receive three additional days of rest and recovery time before Week 5.

If the diagnosis proves promising, Parsons could face the Pittsburgh Steelers when the two teams face off on Sunday Night Football on Oct. 6 at Acrisure Stadium.
