Buffalo Bills beat Jacksonville Jaguars so badly their owner reportedly sees red

Shad Khan had high expectations for the Jacksonville Jaguars heading into the 2024 season and he let everyone know. Heading into the 2024 season, the Jaguars owner proclaimed that this was the best Jaguars roster the team had ever put together.

“Make no mistake, this is the best team the Jacksonville Jaguars have ever put together,” Khan said. “Best players, best coaches. But most importantly, we’re proving it by winning now.”

After three weeks, the “greatest team ever assembled by the Jacksonville Jaguars” is 0-3. Their latest loss, a 47-10 defeat to the Buffalo Bills, was considered the team’s sixth-worst loss in franchise history and reportedly left Khan furious.

Buffalo got its way with the Jaguars. Bills quarterback Josh Allen threw four touchdown passes and had all day to throw the ball. Defensively, Buffalo limited a desperate Jaguars team to just 10 points, despite being without star defenders Matt Milano, Terrel Bernard and Taron Johnson.

After the loss, Florida Times-Union Jaguars reporter Demetrius Harvey reported that the normally reserved Khan was left red-faced by the lopsided defeat.

“Someone close to Jaguars owner Shad Khan said to me tonight, ‘Angrier than I’ve ever seen Shad. He’s normally a reserved, friendly gentleman. Not tonight,'” Harvey shared on X.

To be fair to Khan, the team made several splashy moves this offseason. They signed quarterback Trevor Lawrence and star pass rusher Josh Hines-Allen to big contract extensions. In free agency, the team signed Arik Armstead and former Bills Gabe Davis and Mitch Morse. The team further bolstered their wide receiver room by drafting Brian Thomas Jr. with the 23rd overall pick.

The measures have not produced the desired results.

Khan’s Jaguars strangled their Week 1 game against the Miami Dolphins before falling at home to the Cleveland Browns. Their latest loss to the Bills puts them in an 0-3 hole that they’ll have a hard time pulling themselves out of if they want to make a run at the playoffs.
