Top 7th: Beau Brieske records an inning-opening strikeout and then leaves. Sean Guenther records one groundout, but then an HBP and a single, but Will Vest comes in and provides a lineout to end the threat. Tigers 3, Guards 0

Bottom 6th: After an 0-for-14 start with nine strikeouts in his first postseason, Spencer Torkelson hit an RBI double to score Colt Keith and give the Tigers some security. Tigers 3, Guards 0

Bottom 1st: Parker Meadows hits a leadoff single and Riley Greene drives it home three batters later as the Tigers strike first. Kerry Carpenter and Matt Vierling also both made solid contact on Guardians starter Alex Cobb. Tigers 1, Guards 0

Top 1st: A six-pitch first inning for Keider Montero with only one ball yielded two flyouts and a groundout. This audience enjoys it. Tigers 0, Guards 0

DETROIT – The flags are up and this city is ready for playoff baseball.

The Tigers host the Cleveland Guardians in Game 3 of their ALDS series on Wednesday at 3:08 PM.

Keider Montero will get the start for the Tigers, while Alex Cobb will take the mound for the Guardians.

After falling flat in Game 1 of the series, the Tigers tied the ALDS with a dramatic Game 2 victory on Monday in Cleveland.

The winner of Wednesday’s matchup will be one win away from the ALCS, while the loser will be eliminated.
