    It’s time to get a taste of Bikini Bottom’s famous fast food: the Krabby Patty.

    The Krabby Patty Kollab menu, celebrating the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants, dropped Tuesday, October 8 at Wendy’s. It is available for a limited time.

    What is SpongeBob SquarePants?

    SpongeBob Squarepants is a beloved cartoon on Nickelodeon featuring a young chef named SpongeBob and his adventures with his friends Patrick Starfish, Squidward Tentacles, Mr. Crab and Sandy Squirrel. SpongeBob works at the Krusty Krab and makes the famous Krabby Patty. He also foils the plans of the evil Plankton.

    The cartoon has been entertaining both children and adults for 25 years.

    What’s on the Krabby Patty Kollab menu?

    • Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty: Wendy’s Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty is the iconic Vanilla Frosty with a pineapple-mango flavored puree swirl – a unique Frosty flavor innovation.
    • Krabby Patty Kollab burger: Wendy’s version of a Krabby Patty consists of a quarter Wendy’s beef patty, two slices of melting American cheese, crispy lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion and a top-secret Krabby Kollab sauce on a toasted bun. You can get a single, double or triple Krabby Patty Kollab burger.

    What does the Krabby Patty Kollab burger taste like at Wendy’s?

    I don’t want to be Squidward here, but there’s nothing special about this burger. It’s a Wendy’s burger with typical toppings. The top-secret Krabby Kolb sauce, combined with the burger’s pickles, gives a Thousand Island dressing flavor. Either way, Wendy’s hired Plankton to steal McDonald’s Big Mac Special Sauce recipe and he only came back with two-thirds of it.

    It’s not a bad burger. It’s just a lack of imagination. There was no SpongeBob packaging or anything that made this any different than ordering a Wendy’s burger. Nothing screamed Krabby Patty or SpongeBob.

    What does the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty at Wendy’s taste like?

    For full disclosure, the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty used for this review is made with icy chocolate instead of vanilla. The Wendy’s where it was purchased did not have the Vanilla Frosty, which is funny because Wendy’s recently singled out McDonald’s for broken ice cream machines.

    The Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty is special and different. The pineapple-mango puree has a sweet tropical flavor that rivals boba in bubble tea. The combination with a chocolate Frosty was divine. There are points where you may not taste the puree, which isn’t a problem because a Frosty is tasty on its own. But if you get both flavors, it’s like chocolate covered pineapple and mango. While vanilla is the standard, the puree has the versatility to suit either Frosty flavor.

    If Wendy’s was wise, it would introduce a line of fruity purees to go with the Frostys. It would open up a world of possibilities.
