‘To Russ, or not to Russ, that is the question’ (Shakespeare perhaps?)

What the heck is going on with Russell Wilson’s calf injury? It appeared Wilson was simply held out of the Steelers’ regular season debut as a precaution, only to miss the next three weeks in a row. Although Justin Fields looked drained through the first two weeks of the season, Wilson continued to nurse his injury, while the latter earned the team’s trust with back-to-back elite performances in Weeks 3 and 4.

Russell Wilson isn’t the only player with an ‘injury’ designation that has left fans scratching their heads, as many are also wondering why WR Roman Wilson hasn’t played either:

Russell Wilson went from a guy who was 50/50 in Week 1 to a guy who was inactive through the first four games. Roman Wilson has been practicing for the past two weeks and still isn’t playing. Make it meaningful

Could this be some kind of PR stunt for the Steelers QB, with the team offering Wilson an alternate option to avoid having to face the humiliation of losing the quarterback battle against Fields?

We may never find out what exactly happens with the pair of injured Wilsons in Pittsburgh, but Mike Tomlin certainly likes to keep his cards close to the vest.
