Pittsburgh Steelers reveal inactives for SNF vs. Dallas Cowboys

The Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1) have officially become quarterbacks Russell Wilson inactive for the Week 5 home game against the Dallas Cowboys (2-2) on Sunday Night Football.

Wilson will once again serve as the third stopgap quarterback behind him Justin Fields And Kyle Allen.

Fields will get his fifth straight start under center as Wilson continues to work his way back from the calf injury he suffered on the eve of training camp and aggravated just days before the regular season opener.

Fields has performed well in Wilson’s absence, throwing for 830 yards, three touchdowns and one interception on a career-high 70.6% passing rate. In terms of completion percentage, Fields ranks seventh overall, sixth on throws of 15 yards or more, seventh against the blitz and fifth outside the numbers.

The Steelers will also have to make do without the running back duo Jaylen Warren And Cordarrelle Patterson against the Cowboys. Warren is out for the second week in a row with a knee injury, while Patterson is sidelined with an ankle injury.

With Warren and Patterson out, it becomes a rookie tailback Aaron Shampklin make a backup Naje Harris.

“Shamp is a very smart player,” Harris said of the former this week Harvard remarkable. “Also because of his size, very physical, just like Jaylen. We’re not shy or scared or anything when he goes in there and runs the ball or does something that all the other guys would do.

“Certainly in him, confidence in everyone in there. It’s not a downgrade from anyone. We are all excited about their opportunities. Shamp, with this being his second NFL game, I’m excited for him.
