Happy Sunday, Seattle Seahawks fans! It’s time for another edition of Seahawks gameday predictions. Let’s take a quick look back at last week’s results before we dive into the predictions for the New York Giants game.

Bold prediction: Anthony Bradford will NOT commit any penalties

Not only did Bradford play a clean game, he also limited the pressure allowed. That’s a win in my book.

Seahawks offensive prediction: DK Metcalf gets his third consecutive 100-yard rushing game

It was risky after a strong first half, but Metcalf eclipsed 100 yards on his final reception.

Seahawks defensive prediction: Devon Witherspoon will record a sack, an interception or both

Not close to an interception, pretty close to a sack on the opening play of the game, but that’s it.

Enemy Prediction: Aidan Hutchinson gets at least one sack

It seems he can’t reach Geno Smith. Hutchinson was under double-digit pressure and still couldn’t bring Geno down. Three games against the Seahawks, zero sacks.

Game Prediction: The Seahawks put up a valiant effort…with a loss

That’s right… unfortunately.

Bold prediction: The Seahawks eclipse 200 yards rushing

Ryan Grubb has been extremely tough the last four weeks. Will this remain this way throughout the season? Don’t know. I think there will be some sort of trend breaker. Kenneth Walker III had few touches, but had 80 yards on 12 carries and a hat trick of touchdowns in his return against the Lions. Zach Charbonnet had just 15 yards on 2 carries as the Seahawks chased a deficit all night.

I expect Seattle to have a lead all the way, and both Walker and Charbonnet are poor matchups for the Giants defense. which ranks 31st in yards after contact/touch. New York has already admitted 215 players to Washington this season, and I imagine this is a day where the Seahawks run game really breaks out.

Seahawks offensive prediction: Geno Smith will have his first multi-touchdown passing game of the season

Smith has only four touchdown passes, but it could have been six if Jake Bobo and DK Metcalf hadn’t both been tackled at the 1-yard line against the Lions. The Seahawks were excellent at running the ball in the red zone, which limited Smith’s passing attempts in the red zone. Three of his four TD passes were explosive plays, and that ratio won’t hold up this season. A little course correction is in order and Geno will throw at least two touchdowns.

Seahawks defense prediction: The turnover drought ends

The ballhawk Seahawks looked to be back as they turned over the Denver Broncos three times on opening day. Seattle hasn’t recorded a takeaway since and has had terrible luck recovering fumbles. New York has turned it over six times and if the Seahawks can build a big enough lead, the Giants will apply more pressure and Daniel Jones will likely make some costly mistakes.

Enemy Prediction: Daniel Jones will be sacked less than five times

This is a tongue-in-cheek prediction, but considering Jones had 10 sacks in the same game last season and five in the 2022 meeting, that would represent a significant improvement.

I’m not saying that Jones won’t be pushed hard, but I will acknowledge that the Giants’ offensive line has improved a lot in pass protection this year. Jones has been sacked just nine times at a rate of 5.88%, the lowest since 2021. New York’s success rate is a respectable 15th, so the Seahawks aren’t facing a pushover.

The Seahawks will have most of their top pass rushers and defensive linemen at their disposal, including the return of Leonard Williams and the debut of Uchenna Nwosu, but it may not be total domination in terms of sacks on this occasion.

Game Prediction: Seahawks have a messy but comfortable win

The Seahawks are too sensitive to penalties and turnovers to rely on destroying the Giants by an obscene score. With the defensive front of Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Dexter Lawrence, I see Seattle’s offense sputtering at times when it comes to these three. If special teams remains an issue, the Giants have a path to stick around.

Without Malik Nabers and Devin Singletary, I don’t see how the Giants can move the ball effectively. Something like a 31-10 win will do, if Seattle pulls away in the second half.
