Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans: Open thread in the first half

The Buffalo Bills take on the Houston Texans today in what some consider a revenge game for former Bills wideout Stefon Diggs. The All-Pro rewrote many entries in the Bills’ franchise record books during his incredibly productive four-year stay in town, totaling 445 catches, 5,372 yards and 37 touchdowns during his Bills tenure.

Although the relationship between Diggs and quarterback Josh Allen initially seemed perfect, it eventually seemed to deteriorate, and Diggs’ always erratic behavior led to the Bills eating more than $30 million in dead money to send him to an emerging conference foe. For his part, Allen is off to one of the best starts of his career without his former top target, as he has completed 69% of his passes for 814 yards, seven touchdowns and zero interceptions through the first four games of the season.

This sets the stage for an early season showcase game involving our Bills and a talented AFC opponent. This is the second of three consecutive road games as the Bills lost last week at the Baltimore Ravens and will face the New Jersey York Jets next week in East Rutherford, NJ. This may be just another match on the schedule, but make no mistake, this is a match that both clubs have circled, both literally and mentally.

Your first half of the thread is here, friends. Remember to be polite to each other. Set the comments to ‘oldest’ for the classic game thread feel. And most importantly, enjoy today’s game wherever you watch.

Go Bills!
