Golden Knights and Robin Lehner part ways

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – It appears the Robin Lehner saga has come to an end.

After failing to show up for his mandatory pre-training camp physical last month, news broke this morning with reports that the Golden Knights, the National Hockey League and the NHL Players Association have agreed to a settlement that will see the former Knights netminder will pay $4.5 million remaining on his contract.

Sources say a resolution has been reached regarding Robin Lehner’s situation @GoldenKnights.

Lehner will NOT meet Vegas’ salary cap this season. Believe Lehner will still get paid.

Big win for the Golden Knights, who likely won’t have to operate in LTIR to start the season.

However, his salary does not count against Vegas’ salary cap.

FOX5 has reached out to the NHL, which has not yet responded. No comment was received from the Golden Knights and the NHLPA declined to comment at this time.
